| History | The Romanticism art movement was a style of painting that occured in France, Germany, Austria, Spain and Belgium from End of XVIII to XIX. Romanticism was born as a reaction against the Neo-Classicism and Academism movements. It is characterised by an emphasis on melancholy, nostalgia and romantic imagery about the past. |
