Biography Domenikos Theotocopoulos a.k.a El Greco was a Spanish painter born 1541 in Candie, Greece and died 1614 in Toledo, Spain. El Greco was associated with the Mannerism movement. The work of El Greco influenced the XIX and Modern Art styles of painting. Famous paintings and artwork of this artist include El entierro del Conde de Orgaz and Baptism of Christ.
